Treat Others How THEY want to be treated!!

Is AI ruining the hiring process…I think so!!

The AI Hiring Paradox: When Everyone’s Perfect, No One Is

We all thought AI would make hiring easier. Turns out, it’s making it a total mess!

Remember when we were promised that artificial intelligence would revolutionize recruitment? “It’ll save time!” they said. “It’ll find the perfect candidates!” they promised. Well, here’s what’s actually happening, and it’s pretty epic (but not in a good way).

The Perfect Storm of AI Matching

Picture this scenario: An HR department uses AI to craft the “perfect” job description with all the right keywords and requirements. Sounds great so far!

Then potential candidates use AI tools to optimize their resumes, perfectly matching those AI-generated job descriptions. Every bullet point aligns. Every skill matches. Every qualification fits like a glove.

Finally, HR uses AI screening tools to sort through these candidates, looking for—you guessed it—perfect matches to their AI-generated job description.

When Everyone’s Special, No One Is

And that’s where the whole system breaks down! When EVERYONE uses AI to create perfect alignment, you end up with hundreds of candidates who all look identical on paper. The screening process that was supposed to narrow down your candidate pool now does absolutely nothing because every single applicant appears to be a perfect 100% match.

It’s like everyone showing up to a costume party wearing the exact same outfit. How do you pick the best one?

The Human Element Gets Lost

The worst part? The actual human qualities that make someone right for a position—their problem-solving approach, their work style, their authentic experiences—get completely buried under layers of AI-optimized language.

The passion project someone worked on for years gets reduced to the same generic phrases as someone who just knows the right keywords. A candidate’s unique perspective gets translated into the same standardized terms as everyone else.

Breaking the AI Loop

So what’s the solution? We need to break this cycle! Here are some ideas:

  • Bring back human-written job descriptions that reflect the actual role, not just SEO-optimized keyword soup
  • Ask candidates for specific examples and stories that AI can’t easily fake
  • Create application processes that showcase real skills, not just matching buzzwords
  • Use initial screening calls to quickly separate the genuine matches from the AI-assisted applications

The Bottom Line

Technology should be making the hiring process better, not worse. Right now, we’re stuck in this weird AI echo chamber where machines talk to machines, and actual humans and their real talents get lost in translation.

The most awesome teams aren’t built by matching algorithms—they’re built by finding people with complementary skills, authentic experiences, and genuine passion for the work.
